What makes DHIS unique?

- Deaf owners who are lifetime, native users of American Sign Language

- Strong connection with the Deaf/hard of hearing community

- Participation in the professional sign language interpreting community

- DHIS uses a stringent screening process for sign language interpreters. Upon completion of the screening process, each interpreter is assigned specific levels. Interpreters are assigned in jobs that match their levels. They are not placed in jobs requiring a higher skill level than they have achieved.

-Ongoing assessment of sign language interpreters' skills

- Organizational membership in the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), the national professional association for sign language interpreters. DHIS, Inc. and its interpreters follow the RID Code of Ethics.

- Maintenance of a deaf/hard of hearing consumer database with information regarding signing style and interpreter preferences.
